How it works
From the decoder to the leaderboard
The parts of RACE TEMP0, one at a time.
The bridge on the track PC
The bridge is a program that runs on the track PC, connected to the decoder with a USB cable. It reads the transponder passings and writes them to disk, one by one, before any sending.
It sends them to the cloud when there is a network. If the network is down, it keeps saving them and sends them all when it is back, in order. If the decoder disconnects, it retries every 5 seconds.
It installs with a setup program. It is in use with a myWER MCD 430 decoder connected with a USB cable.
The cloud
Passings reach a cloud database: one project per track.
Laps are calculated from passings: a lap is the time between two consecutive passings of the same transponder, if it falls between a minimum and a maximum; a double passing or a pit stop is not a lap.
The desk
The track page is for whoever runs the sessions: opening and closing runs, automatic run at the first passing, sessions by minutes or by laps, pairing transponders with riders, time slots and closures, printing the transponders' QR codes, decoder status with voltage and temperature, notices to riders.
The TV
The session leaderboard goes full screen on the PC's second monitor or on the TV's device, in three views: qualifying, race with the average speed in km/h, and simple view.
The riders' app
It is a web app that installs without going through the app stores. Riders sign in with their email and a code received by email, without a password.
From the app, riders book time slots seeing who has already booked, follow the live leaderboard, see their times and the records, pair a transponder to themselves by reading its QR code and receive the track's notices as notifications.
